The MP said that 90% of soldiers waste money on online casinos and sports betting platforms instead of saving for the future. This is not the only problem. This is madness. 9 out of 10 frontline soldiers have a gambling problem. They lose their money and then take a loan.' said the deputy.

According to Goncharenko, the problem is not only "disrupting military morale" in the frontline areas, but also the fact that soldiers who have lost their earnings become "perfect targets" of the criminal world after returning home penniless. The MP suggested that the government deal with the situation. He suggested monitoring online gambling platforms and banning military personnel from accessing them. He also suggested reforming the local eOselya program, a government initiative that provides affordable housing loans to soldiers, to make it attractive as an investment for them.
