Mine Action Agency of The Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) has disclosed crucial details regarding ongoing humanitarian demining operations in de-occupied regions, as reported by Ednews.
The report highlights significant progress, with a total of 141 anti-tank mines, 191 anti-personnel mines, and 2502 unexploded ordnance (UXO) successfully detected and neutralized in the liberated areas. Moreover, a substantial land area spanning 6038.9 hectares has been cleared of mines, marking a critical step towards enhancing safety and facilitating reconstruction efforts in these regions.
It is noteworthy that the mine clearance operations were conducted through collaborative efforts involving ANAMA, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the State Border Service. This coordinated approach underscores the commitment of Azerbaijani authorities to mitigate the lingering hazards posed by landmines and UXOs, ultimately fostering stability and resilience in the affected communities.
